One of the many advantages of owning a RIB is that once loaded with fishing gear and supplies we can set up and fish wherever we like along the vast waterway which is Alexander Stamboliski Dam.
One of the largest artificial reservoirs in Bulgaria – the “Alexander Stamboliiski” dam is located next to the Bulgaria 4 Holidays Cottage.
The dam is eighteen kilometers long, starting somewhere under the town of Sevlievo, near the wall by the village of Gorsko Kosovo. This is the oldest large dam in Bulgaria, which was completed more than fifty years ago.
The passionate fans of fishing have been bragging of catching very big sheat-fish and carp-fish in the dam. The stories of these legendary catches are being told over and over again by the fire sites and fireplaces in the numerous summer holiday resorts and recreation stations in the region.
The dam is a great place for fishing and gives an opportunity for visitors to practise their skills while those who would love to get some nice suntan can sunbathe and swim in the warm water of the “Sevlievo sea”.
